5.3 Calculation of Ionization and Radiation Dose Rates in the Earth's Atmosphere
NKUA, UBERN. Delivery months: 5, 12, 24
- Scientists working in the field of atmospheric physics and chemistry are interested in ionization rates in the Earth's atmosphere caused by CR
- Airline companies must know the effective dose rate at aircraft altitudes
5.3.1 CR flux software Development of a suite of computer programs to compute the CR flux at the top of the atmosphere based on the Geant4 code MAGNETOCOSMICS.
5.3.2 Ionization & radiation dose software Development of a software package to determine ionization and dose rate in the Earth's atmosphere (at gridpoints, at different altitudes) using the Geant4 code PLANETOCOSMICS
5.3.3 Implementation software NMDB
- Development of a software to visualize the computed results of ionization and dose rates for the publication on NMDB
- Development of interfaces to get the parameters of CR flux (GCR and SCR) outside geomagnetosphere from NMDB.
- Development of routines to implement the resulting data (tables and graphs of ionization and dose rates) to NMDB.
